Role of the PfS Coach

The PfS Academy will assign a “coach” to each county to serve as the primary county contact for all matters relating to PfS. The coaches will become familiar with their assigned counties and will coordinate customized technical assistance and training related to county needs. This coach will ensure that each county’s efforts are reviewed by the PfS Academy team at least quarterly. These meetings will be conducted in a manner that promotes the efficient and effective identification of county accomplishments and any county technical assistance and training needs.

The tasks that each PfS Academy Coach is responsible for include:

  • Serving as the county’s primary contact with the PfS Academy.

  • Maintaining a working knowledge of the county’s PfS Strategic Plan and implementation activities.

  • Convening at least quarterly meetings with the PfSA team to review county accomplishments and any technical assistance needs presented by the county. The results of these meetings will be reviewed with each county coordinator by the county coach.

  • Collaborating with the county coordinator and members of the PfSA team to complete a technical assistance and training needs assessment for the county.

  • Collaborating with the county coordinator and members of the PfSA team to complete the county’s Site-Specific Assistance Plan.

  • Working with the county coordinator to complete quarterly county progress reports and status reports for ODYS.

  • Maintaining regular contact with the county coordinator to provide: technical assistance on the core PfS curriculum; ongoing access to expert technical assistance and training; a sounding board for voicing concerns; and any other assistance needed regarding the county’s PfS activities.
